There was something immediately magical about pairing wardrobe stylist Estevan Ramos’ one-of-a-kind Custom Ostrich Halter with Gap Ultra Low Girl Shorts. Jessiqa started with a few standard warm up poses before we launched into being more considerate of her wardrobe. The feathers as our cue - we tried a number of variations of flying, some very Black Swan-ish, a few mimicking the hood ornamnet of a Rolls Royce, even a few shots of Jessiqa pretending to be an airplane. This is one of those shots - like most in this series - that really came from working with the model to find the right story. After a bit of shooting I asked Jessiqa to pretend she was a bird. She rested her head in her hand and closed her eyes. She somehow managed to capture the bird idea - but also an egg in a nest idea. I fell in love with image immediately.
Camia-Marie mixes it up with Stuart Weltzman High Heels, a GapBody Favorite Convertible Wireless Bra and Gap High Waist Girl Shorts.
Jolene expresses herself in Gap Womens Always Skinny Dark Denim Jeans, Ray-Ban Aviators, Denim Roping by Estevan Ramos, and an oh-so-subtle hint of rebellion.
Getting her tomboy out, Jessiqa gets all aggressive with her Gap Mens Breathe Cotton Rib Tank and Gap Men’s Classic White Cotton Briefs.
Camia-Marie adds a vintage ski cap to a pair of Gap Moss Stitch Convertible Mittens, a Gap Womens Cotton Rib Tank and GapBody Modal Bloomers with Drawstring.
Jessiqa turns back the clock (and stops it) sporting a Gap Womens 1969 Denim Jacket and Gap Womens Sexy Boyfriend Denim Shorts. Though we suspect they probably never quite lived up to their name this much until now.
Shy about walking around in your GapBody Core Half Lace Bra and GapBody Stretch Hipster Briefs? Fear not. Take a cue from Jolene and hide your identity with Gap Moss Stitch Convertible Mittens and a Watchmans Hat - courtesy Estevan Ramos.
Jessiqa is modeling Gap Mens Classic White Cotton Briefs paired with Gap Womens Long Sleeve Slub Jersey Hoodie.
Jolene stays warm with her Gap Cold Weather Accessories including Gap Cable-Knit Mittens and Gap Womens Cashsoft Beanie.
I set out to shoot everything unconventionally - to see everyday clothes unexpectedly. Though some images in the series are more successful than others - I don’t think anyone has ever shot a tank top as a cape - or channeled a super hero to model a Gap Slub Jersey Tank or GapBody Modal Bloomers with Drawstring.
Camia-Marie was super collaborative and the fun she brought to the project shows in this series. Playful and fun, daring and sexy, different but familiar. Everything I was hoping we’d accomplish.
